Phase 5c Best Bets & Application in Spelling
23 PCMs for weeks 12-31 of Lesley's Phase 5 MT plan - each focusing on a different phoneme). Each PCM focuses on one phoneme. In each row the children have to use their 'best bet' knowledge to select the correct spelling from a choice of either 2 or 3. There are 6 rows altogether.
Differentiated spelling lists for children to take home and learn (following the order of teaching on the Phase 5c week by week MT plan in the Gold Treasure Chest on this site). Each list contains 5 words and a sentence which includes revision from previous weeks.
A Smart Notebook file with 14 separate words sorts, each focusing on establishing the 'Best Bet' (ie. which grapheme is most likely) when writing the focus phoneme at the beginning/middle OR end of a word.
Photocopiable sheet for playing a relay race focusing on /oa/ during the 'practise' part of the lesson.
