Phase 4 Blending and Segmenting Words
10 screens of 6 images to play oral blending I Spy. The images on each screen start with the same two initial adjacent consonants.
5 PCMs. Each displays 4 graphemes across the top with 4 real words (treasure) with missing graphemes underneath. Magnetic letters are placed over the graphemes at the top and the children have to move them to complete the 4 words underneath.
Lists of items, which can easily be collected to make bags of objects that can be used for a variety of oral blending and segmenting activities at Phase 4.
PCMs for making 4 sets of scavenger hunt cards for CCVC & CVCC words.
9 Powerpoints (each with 4 pages). Each page shows a robot, with a word on its tummy (for blending).
PCMs to make 3 different Cube Games to develop children's blending skills.
PCMs to make 3 different sets of dominoes, matching pictures to words.
PCMs for Feed the Cats - a game which practises blending words. Useful for precision monitoring or the 'revisit and review' part of the lesson.
