Synthetic Phonics Training

Training can consist of whole day, half day or twilight (1.5 hour) sessions. These may focus on participants’ subject knowledge, the Letters and Sounds programme – what you need to know or effective planning, effective phonics teaching, teaching Phases 5 & 6, helping children who can’t yet orally blend/segment, effective interventions for children not making the expected progress, making phonics fun, application of skills in shared and guided reading and writing etc. I am passionate about the teaching of phonics and am often told this is evident in the courses I run. I endeavour to make sessions fun and interactive with plenty of practical activities and anecdotes from my work with children.

‘Your input regarding the implementation of synthetic phonics was truly excellent and you fired both staff and the Literacy governor with enthusiasm……..Thank you very much for your advice, guidance and thoroughly enjoyable INSET.’
