Synthetic Phonics Teaching Resources,
Training & Support
This site is packed full of resources to support the teaching of grapheme-phoneme correspondences (GPCs), blending and segmenting – the key features of high quality synthetic phonics work identified in the Rose ‘Review of the Teaching of Early Reading’: These resources , created by a practising teacher and phonics consultant , are designed to make the planning, teaching and learning of synthetic phonics easier and more enjoyable. The content will be of particular interest to primary teachers, TAs and literacy co-ordinators/subject leaders, as well as literacy and CLLD consultants. Some of the resources are specifically designed to be used by schools that have adopted the Primary National Strategy programme Letters and Sounds. Others can be used with any synthetic phonics scheme.
